Day Twelve- Changing of the Guard and Afternoon Tea

Today we celebrated my birthday! My birthday was actually on the 5th, but as I explained in my post, we didn't get a chance to do much.

For my day, we started by going to Buckingham Palace to watch the changing of the guard! It happens almost everyday in the summertime. It was amazing how many people there were! It was fun to see the uniforms, the band and the horses, but it wasn't something I'd say is worth standing an hour outside packed with strangers to see.

We then got on a train and went to afternoon tea in a small cafe on the Thames! We had finger sandwiches, banana bread, scones, and of course wonderful tea! I want to do afternoon tea everyday!!

When we got back to the hotel, since I love naps and I got to choose what we did, we took an afternoon nap! It was lovely. Afterwards, we walked into town for our reservation at a steakhouse in Trafalgar Square. It was delicious!

We followed it up with a nice walk and then dessert and cocktails at our hotel's lounge/bar. It was a relaxing and wonderful day!
