Day 36- Vistula River and Enjoying the City

Last night my grandparents messaged me that they looked at a map and saw that we were near the river that my grandpa crossed when he was a child and journeying to Germany. When I was little, he would tell us about the story of crossing this big river on a horse and carriage and how they were worried that the horses would break through the ice on the river. Thankfully, they made it across safely.

So this morning after breakfast we decided to go see it, as it was just a quick walk from our AirBnB. He crossed a lot farther north, but it was still meaningful to see the same river that I had heard so much about!

Since we were nearby to Old Town and we liked it so much, we went back and checked out the market square. It had a bunch of little shops and restaurants for tourists to see.

We planned to visit the Royal Palace, but it was not open for visitors, so instead we just took pictures of the outside.

Unfortunately, most touristy places are closed on Monday and so due to our poor planning, there weren't many things to go see and do. So instead, we wandered and did a lot of people-watching.

Since we got back earlier tonight, we had some time to video chat with a couple of our friends which was really nice! We like to stay in the loop with what's going on with everybody!

(If we haven't spoken and you'd like to chat, please message us or comment!)
