This morning we got up early to see the Floating Market! It is only open from 4AM-9AM because the Floating Market is where all of the wholesale transactions occur before everyone goes to the market to sell there. They need to do it in the morning so that the goods they sell at the regular market are fresh!
All of the boats had tall sticks with a piece of what they are selling so that other boats can find them! There were also many flowers being sold for the New Year!
Afterward, we went over to the regular market! It’s crazy that we’ve seen so many different outdoor markets across the world and they all seem to be so different!
From the market, we headed back to Ho Chi Minh! Thankfully there wasn’t much traffic going this way so we were able to make good time!
About halfway back, we stopped at a tourist rest stop for lunch! It was located in such a pretty area with little ponds and flowers!
When we got back to the city, we stopped at the hotel to settle in and then we walked around the area around our hotel for a little bit.
Then our driver picked us up and took us to the Water Puppet Show! It was a representation of the traditional puppet shows they would perform in the rice paddy’s almost a thousand years ago! The show was really cool and fun! It was narrated in Vietnamese, but we could still get the jist of the stories!
Today was a great end to our Vietnamese tour! Tomorrow, we are off to Hong Kong!
