Day 191- Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and Kabukicho

Today we went to the Shinjuky Gyoen National Garden! It was a really big park that was divided into different gardens. Our favorite was of course the traditional Japanese garden! It was very beautiful, but we can’t imagine how great it will look in a month or so!

Although most of the Japanese Cherry trees still just had buds on them, some have started to bloom! Naturally, we needed to get some glamour shots!

Another part of the park was a big greenhouse! The plants and flowers were beautiful to see and the warmth was also really nice!

After we had lunch at the cafe in the gardens, we walked a few blocks to a mall where we found a Burberry Pop Up store! I saw on Burberry’s Instagram that they were featuring their Fall/Winter 2018 line in Tokyo, so I had to check it out!

After seeing their clothes along with a large crowd of people, we kept walking and a few blocks down we stopped at an arcade (they have one on what feels like every block!) so Alexander could play Mario Kart in Japan!

We then wandered through Kabukicho, which is one of the places that has all of the big signs that I have always associated with Tokyo! We also found Godzilla on top of their movie theatre! This place is apparently like Tokyo’s “red light district”, so there were lots of lights and sounds coming from everywhere!

I guess since it is Sunday, a few of the big roads are closed for pedestrians only, so we were able to walk right down the middle!

Then, we had the most incredible dinner! We had the best beef we’ve ever tasted! Little bite sized pieces of meat kept coming on plates and then we cooked it ourselves on our little barbecue! We also had a private little room for our meal! It was a perfect final fancy dinner out before going home!
