Day 174- Birthday Party

Today we had a leisurely morning with another yummy Cambodian breakfast! Then we went with Gary, Lois, and Anna to run some errands to prepare for Anna and KimLeng’s birthday party tonight! Anna is turning 2 and Kimleng is turning 30!

(Their birthdays are actually tomorrow, but they were so sweet and moved the whole party a day early so that we could join!!)

We took the tuk tuk across town to a supermarket that a lot of expats shop at because it carries many familiar brands! We picked up party supplies and then came back to get ready for the festivities!

Even though it was his birthday, Kimleng insisted on cooking a Chinese meal for everyone, since he is part Chinese. It was delicious noodle soup! I think it was a big hit!

Alexander and I had a great time chatting with everyone and getting to know some of the young people from Gary and Lois’s ministry! They were all such kind and fun people! We also got to know the neighbors who are also expats from the United States!

Of course, later on it was time for CAKE! Alexander was psyched to find out that we were having a western style cake! It was a yummy white cake with fruit in the middle. Kimleng and Lois gave him the biggest piece with a giant scoop of ice cream! (He also got to finish the cake after the guests left!)

Then, once most of the people left, it was time for Anna’s presents! She got bubbles and play dough and animals! Alexander and I got her a pink My Little Pony!

It was really nice playing with her for a little bit before bedtime!
