Day 92- Cable Car Ride

Today we had another chilly and foggy day in the Alps! Unfortunately for us, we were going to go on a cable car ride to see some pretty views. Although we still had a good time, the clouds stopped us from seeing the snow capped mountain tops!

We enjoyed riding on the cable cars despite being packed in like sardines with an Asian tour bus that came in! It definitely warmed us up!

Our first stop was in Gimmelwald. It is a tiny village right on top of the hill next to our village. We walked all the way through the town before circling back to catch the next cable car up to Murren.

Up in Murren it was about 15 degrees colder than where we started! We first went to the only restaurant in town that is open at this time of year and warmed up while we ate some delicious Swiss food! I had a bratwurst and Alexander had Schnitzel! We, of course, both had hot chocolate too!   The photo below was taken at the “Panoramic View Terrace”, and this was our view! Behind those clouds are beautiful, tall, and white mountains! We only know that because after walking around for a while, we got just a glimpse!

Day 91- Hot Chocolate and Laundry in Lauterbrunnen

Today was foggy and misty and cold, and we loved it! The fog looked really eerie over the mountains and the cold air felt nice after all of the warm places we have been lately.

We also needed to do laundry really badly, so we took the bus into town so we could go to the laundromat. Once we had our clothes washing, we went across the street to a super cute cafe where we had some delicious Swiss hot chocolate! We brought our iPads so we could get some things done while we were sitting and chatting.

We walked along the Main Street, which is basically the only street since the town is so small, hoping to look in some shops. However, and I can’t believe we still haven’t learned this lesson, it’s Sunday and everything is closed!

Oh well, we still enjoyed doing some window shopping and checking out the “Misty Mountains”.

Once we dried our clothes, we headed back to the cottage where we cranked up the space heater and got all cozy for the evening!
